Teaching with Douglass Day

Welcome!

This year, Douglass Day is going to focus on the life and legacies of Mary Ann Shadd Cary, one of the most important and too-little-known Black women in the history of Canada and the United States.

We will draw our focus this year from some of her writings.

“in anything relating to our people, I am insensible of boundaries”

-Mary Ann Shadd Cary, 1849
